Potensi Tanaman Apu-Apu (Pistia Stratiotes, L.) Sebagai Fitoremediator Ion Timbal (Ii), Kadmium (Ii) Dan Kromium (Vi)
ABSTRACT
The technology that use living plants to clean up the enviroment is know as phytoremediation. One of the plants that haspotency as phytoremediator is water lettuce (Pistias tratiotes, L.). The aim of this study was to determine the ability of water lettuce as phytoremediator of lead (II), cadmium (II) and chromium (VI) based on contact time (exposure period) variations (0, 3, 6 and 12 days). The concentration of lead (II) and cadmium (II) were analyzed by using AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry)and chromium (VI) was analyzed using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The results showed that maximum absorption efficiency for lead (II), cadmium (II) and chromium (VI) in a sequence that were 97.04%, 87.56% and 41.20% (day 12th) respectively. It was concluded that water lettuce has a potential as phytoremediator ions lead (II), cadmium (II) and chromium (VI), as it has the power to absorb the metal ions and bioconcentration factor value greater than 1.
