Perancangan Hotel Dengan Pendekatan Arsitektur Tepian Air Di Taluk Kuantan, Kuantan Singingi
ABSTRACT
Indonesia is rich in diverse tourism and cultural assets, offering natural charm,
local traditions, and distinctive culinary experiences that attract visitors. Kuantan
Singingi Regency in Riau Province is one of the regions with significant potential,
particularly through the Pacu Jalur Festival, a traditional rowing competition that
has become a national agenda and was included in the Top 10 Kharisma Event
Nusantara (KEN) in 2024. This festival has made a major contribution to the
increase in tourist visits. According to the Department of Culture and Tourism, the
number of hotel guests rose from 92,276 in 2022 to 115,489 in 2024. Although the
number of hotel rooms increased from 367 to 493 units, the available
accommodation facilities remain inadequate. Kuantan Singingi currently lacks
star-rated hotels and only offers budget-class inns and non-starred lodgings. This
highlights a gap between accommodation needs and availability, especially during
the festival’s peak season. The design of a three-star hotel with a waterfront
architectural approach offers a strategic solution. This concept harmonizes the
building with the characteristics of the Kuantan River, providing a comfortable
lodging experience that is integrated with nature and located near the festival
venue. The hotel is designed not only as a temporary place to stay but also as a
recreational space and a hub for tourist activities. This project is expected to
improve the quality of accommodation, strengthen the tourism image of Kuantan
Singingi, and drive local economic growth by providing representative facilities
that meet national standards.
