Strategi Pengembangan Ekowisata Mangrove Berbasis Edukasi Di Provinsi Riau =Educational-Based Mangrove Ecotourism Development Strategy In Riau Province
Education-based mangrove ecotourism is developed in tourist areas, especially mangrove forests. This study aims to analyze the existing conditions of the ecological aspects of education-based mangrove ecotourism management in Riau Province, analyze the existing conditions of the social aspects of education-based mangrove ecotourism management in Riau Province, analyze the existing conditions of the economic aspects of education-based mangrove ecotourism management in Riau Province analyze the existing conditions of the policy aspects of education-based mangrove ecotourism management in Riau Province, analyze the potential and development of education-based mangrove ecotourism in Riau Province and formulate a strategy for the development of education-based mangrove ecotourism in Riau Province.
Research method: This study uses observation and interview methods. Interviews were conducted with the community, visitors and management of the tourist area.
Results and Discussion: The results of the study found that mangrove forests have a variety of mangrove species with a relatively moderate density with the number of species ranging from 9-16 species. The existing conditions from the social aspect include community participation in addition to positive community perceptions in the development of education-based ecotourism. Management from the economic aspect can be seen from the economic activities of the community that are growing in supporting the implementation of mangrove ecotourism. The policy of managing education-based mangrove ecotourism in encouraging ecotourism activities and the involvement of the private sector in supporting funding and mentoring educational activities in mangrove forest ecotourism. The potential and development of education-based ecotourism are relatively developing with activities that introduce mangroves to visitors through exploring mangrove forests, although only limited to understanding at the introductory level or are cognitive in nature. Attractive potential strategies, incentives, effective institutions, positive stakeholders.
Conclusion: The strategy for developing education-based ecotourism in mangrove forests can be done by exploring the potential of natural tourism, culture and local wisdom to attract domestic and foreign tourists through assistance from the company, improving the economy and community welfare through educational tourism activities through mass media promotion, synergizing climate village programs with education-based ecotourism programs with development activities because they are through crossing routes, increasing institutional and human resource capabilities in managing education-based ecotourism with effective marketing, and encouraging research and development activities on the potentials contained in the ecotourism area as a means of education and increasing domestic and foreign tourist visits through innovative marketing.
