Uji Beberapa Konsentrasi Ekstrak Tepung Biji Sirsak (Annona Muricata L.) Terhadap Ulat Grayak Spodoptera Frugiperda J. E. Smith Pada Tanaman Jagung
ABSTRACT
Corn (Zea mays L.) is vital for the food and feed industry, but Spodoptera frugiperda J.E. infestation poses a significant challenge, causing growth failure by damaging the plant's growing point. Soursop (Annona muricata L.) seed pesticides offer a safe alternative for pest control. This study aimed to determine the optimal concentration of soursop seed flour extract to control Spodoptera frugiperda on corn. Conducted at the Plant Pests Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, the research lasted three months from June to August 2022. The study followed a Completely Randomized Design with five treatments and four replications, using varying concentrations of soursop seed flour extract dissolved in water (0 g.l-1, 25 g.l-1, 50 g.l-1, 75 g.l-1, and 100 g.l-1). The results showed a significant correlation between extract concentration and S. frugiperda mortality. The most effective concentration was 100 g.l-1 water extract, resulting in 85.00% mortality within 12 hours of application, with a lethal time of 50 occurring at 58.00 hours. This study highlights the potential of soursop seed flour extract as an environmentally friendly solution for controlling Spodoptera frugiperda in corn cultivation.
