Pengaruh Pupuk Kascing Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Produksi Tanaman Pakcoy (Brassica Rapa L.)
ABSTRACT
Pakcoy mustard is one of the most popular vegetables in Indonesia because it tastes good, is nutritious and is rich in vitamin A and vitamin C. Conventional pakcoy cultivation practices that use agrochemicals such as chemical fertilisers and synthetic pesticides can leave residues in the soil and on crops that have the potential to pollute the environment and endanger consumer health. The use of vermicompost fertiliser in pakcoy mustard cultivation practices can be a solution to reduce the use of excessive chemical fertilisers and is in line with government programs in order to preserve the environment. This study aims to determine the effect of various doses of vermicompost fertiliser on the growth and yield of pakcoy mustard (Brassica rapa L.). The research was conducted at the Experimental Farm of Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, using a completely randomised design (CRD) with six doses of vermicompost fertiliser (K), namely: K0: (control) without fertilizer, K1: 4 t.ha-1, of fertiliser, K2: 8 t.ha-1 of fertiliser, K3: 12 t.ha-1 of fertiliser, K4: 16 t.ha-1 of fertiliser, K5: 20 t.ha-1 of fertiliser. Each treatment was replicated as many as four replicates. All data obtained in this study were analysed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) F test and using further tests with the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at the 5% level. The results showed that the application of vermicompost fertiliser had a significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, leaf length, plant fresh weight, consumable fresh weight, and the ratio of crown and root of pakcoy mustard. The application of vermicompost fertiliser at a dose of 20 t.ha-1 gave better growth and yield than other doses.
