Strategi Pengembangan Industri Kuliner Rumah Makan Khas Padang Di Kota Pekanbaru
This research aimed to find out the right strategy to develop a culinary industry of typical padang food restaurant in the City of Pekanbaru. As for this study using secondary data and primary data optained directly from respondents in the culinary industy of typical padang food restaurant in Pekanbaru City amounting 38 business units. The analytical method used in this study is SWOT Analysis and IE Matrix. Based on the results of the SWOT Analysis, it is shown that the culinary industry of typical padang food restaurant in Pekanbaru City, which has a stategy for developing businesses, as well as for dealing with internal and external problems of the industry. Based on the analisys of the IE Matrix, culinary industry of typical padang food restaurant on Pekanbaru City in V cells, which have internal and external capabilities in a state of stable growth. Based on the SWOT Analysis diagram, this strategy is in Quadrant I (Aggressive Strategy). The strategy set out in this condition is to support aggressive growth policies. This strategy is more focused on the SO strategy (Strengthening Strategy), namely by using the power to take advantage of opportunities. The development strategy which is executed is expanded into other areas that the food restaurant business can grow and more advanced. Maintaining and improving the quality of products and services to maintain the loyality of custamers so that the people’s purchasing power increases.
