Penerapan Model Self-Directed Learning Untuk Meningkatkan Kemandirian Belajar Dan Hasil Belajar Siswa Pada Mata Pelajaran Ekonomi Kelas XI Di MA Himmatul Ummah Tapung
This study aims to analyze the application of the model self-directed
learning can increase learning independence and student learning outcomes in
economics learning the subject of Monetary Policy and Fiscal Policy in class XI
IPS MA Himmatul Ummah Tapung. This research is motivated by the low level of
student learning independence reflected in the behavior of students who do not
manage their study time and lack of learning readiness to prepare initial
knowledge related to the material to be studied. In addition, the absence of
responsibility for something he did was seen from the behavior of students when
doing the exercises who were less enthusiastic and copied the results of their
friends' answers. This causes students to lack understanding of the material and
low learning outcomes.
This study uses experiments (Quasi Experiment) by design nonrendomized
pretest – posttest control group design by involving two classes
namely the experimental class and the control class. The research subjects were
all students of XI IPS MA Himmatul Ummah Tapung, namely class XI IPS1 and
class XI IPS2. Data was collected using a questionnaire used to obtain data about
student learning independence andtest questions for learning outcomes. The data
analysis technique used is quantitative analysis with the "t" test.
The results showed that there was an increase in learning outcomes and
student learning independence after the model was applied self-directed learning.
In addition, the results of this study indicate that the application of the model selfdirected
learning effective for improving student learning outcomes with grades
n-gain 76% high category and quite effective also to increase student learning
independence with gradesn-gain 56% with a fairly high category.
