The Critical Part Method (CPM) method is needed for analyzing the optimization of a project so that it can be known how long the project can be completed and find out if there is a delay. This research was conducted based on case studies on the construction work of Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road Section 2. In this study, the author discusses the optimization of the implementation of the Section 2 Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road construction project due to the implementation of activities that are not in accordance with the implementation schedule.
Data collection techniques were carried out with field research and library research. The data analysis technique used in this study is quantitative descriptive analysis because this research is used to describe the conditions in the field in the quantitative form (numbers) and use the Critical Part Method (CPM) method. The results of the study obtained the problem of work delays caused the land acquisition that is not in accordance with the implementation schedule, so it is necessary to optimize network planning by dividing it into 3 parts with the same type of work but with different time periods for each stage.
