Penilaian Kualitas Air Sungai Indragiri Berdasarkan Indeks Biodiversitas Perifiton Epilitik Di Desa Lubuk Terentang Kecamatan Gunung Toar Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi Provinsi Riau
Abstract
Indragiri River is one of the largest rivers in Riau Province. This study
aims to assess the water quality of the Indragiri River based on the Epilithic
Periphyton Biodiversity Index. The research location is in Lubuk Terentang
Village, Gunung Toar District, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province. The
time chosen for the research is in February 2021. The samples were taken from 3
sampling points: the plantation area, the excavation sand and rock, and the
residential settlement. The method used in this research is a survey method. The
results shown that there were five classes of phytoperiphyton, namely
Bacillariophyceae (8 species), Chlorophyceae (6 species), Euglenophyceae (3
species), Trebouxiophyceae (1 species), and Conjugatophyceae (1
species), while 1 class zooperiphyton were Rotifera (1 species). The epilytic
periphyton density values were phytoperiphyton ranged from 8.255 to 9.286
cells/cm2, and zooperiphyton ranged from 172 ind/cm2. The diversity index
ranged from 2,527-2,680. While the dominance index is 0,089-0,105. Then the
uniformity index ranged from 0,874-0,910. The result of the biodiversity index
and water quality parameter values indicate that it can support the life of epilithic
periphyton organisms.
