Efisiensi Adsorpsi Serbuk Buah Jabon Putih (Anthocephalus Cadamba Miq.) Terkombinasi Asam Humat Sebagai Biosorben Pada Penjerapan Zat Warna Crystal Violet
White jabon fruit powder (Anthochepalus cadamba Miq.) combined with humic acid from peat water has the potential to be used as a biosorbent in absorbing Crystal Violet dye. Jabon puith fruit is used as a biosorbent because of the cellulose content contained in the jabon fruit itself. The combination with humic acid aims to increase the active sites of the biosorbent in absorbing Crystal Violet dye. This study aims to determine the optimum concentration, the best adsorption temperature and the type of isotherm used in this adsorption process. The method used in this research is adsorption method using batch system. Biosorbent characterization was carried out to determine the adsorption capacity of Methylene Blue based on SNI. 06-3730-1995. Analysis of morphology and elemental content on biosorbent was conducted using SEM-EDS. Analysis of pore size and pore diameter was conducted using BET. Analysis of biosorbent functional groups was conducted using FTIR. The concentration of Crystal Violet in the adsorption process was analyzed using UV-Vis spectrophotometer. Optimum Crystal violet adsorption occurred at a concentration of 60 ppm and the best temperature of 50°C with an efficiency of 99.60% and adsorption capacity of 14.9324. The type of isotherm obtained in this adsorption process is the Temkin isotherm type with an R2 value of 0.7278 which indicates that adsorption occurs chemically in a heterogeneous layer. The thermodynamics of adsorption found that ΔS is negative and ΔH is positive which states that the process occurs spontaneously and endothermic.
