Pengaruh Teknik Adaptasi Salinitas Terhadap Kelangsungan Hidup Dan Pertumbuhan Larva Bawal Air Tawar (Colossoma Macropomum)
Abstract
This research was conducted from January to March 2021 at Fish Hatchery and
Breeding Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, University of Riau. The
aim of this research is to know the effect of salinity adaptation techniques on the
survival rate and growth of Tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) and to know the
optimum salinity scale that can be tolerated by Tambaqui if culture in brackish
waters. The method used in this study was an experimental method with a
Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one factor, five treatments and three
replications. The treatment in this study is S0 : control, S0.4 :Administration of
salinity 0.4 ppt/day, S0.5 : Administration of salinity 0.5 ppt/day, S0.6 :
Administration of salinity 0.6 ppt/day, S0.7 : Administration of salinity 0.7
ppt/day. Parameters measured were survival, absolute weight growth, specific
growth rate, and absolute length growth. The results showed that the best salinity
addition treatment was at S0.4 (giving salinity 0.4 ppt/day) that the larvae could
live up to a salinity of 16.8 ppt with a survival rate of 41.7%, and the optimum
salinity ranged from 12.8-15.2 ppt with a survival rate of 58%, then absolute
weight growth of 0. 91 g, the specific growth rate was 10.49%/day and the
absolute length growth was 3.25 cm.
