“Perancangan Dan Pengujian Propeller Jenis Fpp (Fixed Pitch Propeller) Kapal Cepat Tak Berawak Dengan Variasi Jumlah Blades”
ABSTRACT
Based on the implementation of the unmanned fast boat contest (KKCTBN) the
propeller of fast ships is one of the main factors for the success of the ship
propulsion system. The design of the optimal drive system is an important design
process. Therefore, there is a need for a design analysis study of the propulsion
system to determine the performance of the propeller blades variations. in this
case the main focus taken from the propulsion system part is propeller with the
type of FPP (Fixed Pitch Propeller) or called fixed propeller blades. The design
and testing resulted in the dimensions of the main diameter of the propeller, pitch
propeller, skew and rake, expanded bar, and hub (boss) propeller. The design was
carried out by varying the types of blades, two-blades, three-blades, and fourblades.
Then the variations in the types of blades are tested to find out the
performance of each blades designed. Through research, the average thrust
number generated by two-blades propellers was 13.32 N, three-blades 17.13 N,
and four-blades 12.78 N. As for the 20 m straight speed test, the average speed
value of two-blades propellers was 1.5 m/s, three-blades 1.4 m/s, and four-blades
1.2 m/s. Furthermore, maneuver testing at 360° conditions with a radius of 1.5 m
obtained the average maneuver speed value of two-blades propellers of 0.13 m/s,
three-blades of 15.67 m/s, and 0.09 m/s. Then the testing stage of the cavitation
phenomenon shows that there is indication of cavitation that occurs all variations
of blades. The test results of the three propeller variations, will be taken the best
thrust data for use on unmanned fast boats.
