Analisis Persaingan Industri Kecil Bubuk Kopi Di Kota Pekanbaru

ABSTRACT
This study aims to see the business competition of the coffee powder industry in Pekanbaru City and to find out alternative strategies to increase sales of coffee powder in Pekanbaru City. The approach method used in this study uses a quantitative descriptive approach. The types of data used in this study are primary and secondary data. Where the primary data is obtained directly from the respondents through interviews, questionnaires, documentation. While the secondary data is obtained through government agencies such as the Central Statistics Agency for Pekanbaru City and the Pekanbaru City Industry and Trade Department. The analytical methods used are CR4 market structure, HHI and Porter's analysis. The results showed that the market structure showed a CR4 value of 83.01%. This indicates that the level of concentration of small coffee powder industry businesses in Pekanbaru City is in a tight oligopoly market condition. And the HHI value shows a value of 2,078.63. This means that the market is moderately concentrated, which means that small coffee powder industry business competition is in a oligopoly. The results of Porter's analysis research can be seen that the competition for small coffee powder industries in Pekanbaru City is quite high, because the number of coffee powder industries is large, both licensed and unlicensed. From the supplier variable, it is quite strong coming from inside and outside the region. From the newcomer variable, there are not too many obstacles to entering the business such as the amount of capital, the same type of business that has lasted a long time, as well as price competition and product quality. From the substitute product substitution variables that threaten the existence of the coffee powder business in Pekanbaru City, namely the existence of packaged coffee and packaged tea with relatively cheap prices and good product quality.
