ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the competition in the refill drinking water industry in Tampan District, Pekanbaru City. The data used are primary data and secondary data. The population and sample in this study were the refill drinking water industry in Tampan District, which amounted to 42 business units. This research uses quantitative descriptive analysis. This study uses quantitative descriptive analysis to determine the condition of business competition in the refill drinking water industry in Tampan District, Pekanbaru City The analytical test tools used in this research are the market structure of CR4, IHH and Porter's Analysis. The results of the market structure research show that CR4 23.75% is a monopoly market with a value approach of 0 < CR4 < 40 and the Herfindahl-Hirscman index value of 346,484 is included in the monopoly category. The results of the study indicate that the conditions of competition in this industry are quite high due to the large number of business actors and almost the same selling prices. There have been no new entrants over the past year, so the barriers to this industry are quite low. Threat of substitute products can pose a threat to profitability and competitiveness. in the industry because the prices offered are not much different, the bargaining power of suppliers is low to play the price because there is a lot of water available, the bargaining power of buyers is not able to control prices.
