Pengaruh Produk Domestik Regional Bruto (PDRB), Upah Minimum Dan Investasi Terhadap Tingkat Pengangguran Di Provinsi Riau
The problem of unemployment is a form of problem faced by economic
conditions that need to be addressed, especially in Indonesia, which is still a
developing country where the problem of unemployment is still a matter that
needs attention. The increasing population growth, which of course will have an
impact on increasing the number of the workforce, in this case, of course, the
need for employment will be higher, this will encourage the creation of
unemployment problems. The unemployment condition in Riau Province in 2021
is 4.42%, this figure is still low with Indonesia's unemployment rate of 6.49%. As
for the island of Sumatra, Riau Province is included in the 3 regions with the
lowest unemployment. Of course this explains that the conditions of opportunity in
Riau Province have started to improve. This study aims to analyze the effect of
GDP, minimum wages and investment on unemployment in Riau Province. The
method of data analysis was carried out by the method of multiple linear
regression analysis. Based on the results of the study, it is known that GRDP,
Minimum Wage and Investment simultaneously have a significant effect on the
unemployment rate in Riau Province. However, partially GRDP has a significant
negative effect on the unemployment rate in Riau Province. This means that the
increasing GRDP will encourage a decrease in unemployment, this is because
increasing GRDP will encourage an increase in job opportunities so that more
job seekers are absorbed in the job market. Minimum Wage has a significant
positive effect on the unemployment rate in Riau Province. This means that an
increase in the minimum wage will encourage an increase in unemployment, this
is because with an increase in the minimum wage, the wage standard will
increase so that it triggers an increase in production costs, this will encourage a
decrease in demand for labor and will even trigger work stoppages. Investment
does not have a significant negative effect on the unemployment rate in Riau
Province. This means that changes in investment have not been able to encourage
changes in unemployment, although investment is still a very important thing to
pay attention to because the right investment and more on the development of the
labor market will encourage job creation and reduce unemployment.
