Hubungan Lama Berkendara Dengan Risiko Terjadinya Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Pada Pengemudi Ojek Online Di Pekanbaru
Abstract
Introduction: Online motorcycle drivers work 8 to 12 hours per day to deliver, pick up and wait for passengers in positions that are often less ergonomic. The long working time and lack of rest time and monotonous work can increase the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome. Carpal tunnel syndrome is a series of symptoms and signs caused by compression of the median nerve in the carpal tunnel of the wrist. This study aims to determine the relationship between long driving and the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome in online motorcycle drivers. Methods: The design of this research is correlational descriptive with a cross sectional approach. Data was collected using a questionnaire the research sample amounted to 98 people who were taken based on inclusion criteria using purposive sampling technique. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis with Chi-Square test. Results: There is a relationship between length of driving and the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome with p value 0.000 < α (0.05). Conclusion: Long driving has a significant relationship with the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome.
