Gambaran Self-Management Penderita Hipertensi Pada Masa Pandemi Covid 19
Abstract
Background: The emergence of the COVID 19 virus can have a serious impact when exposed to people who have comorbidities, such as hypertension. Hypertension or high blood pressure is a condition where blood pressure is higher or equal to 140/90 mmHg. So good self-management is needed during the COVID-19 pandemic to reduce and maintain blood pressure stability. The purpose of this study was to describe the self-management of hypertension sufferers during the COVID 19 pandemic. Methods: This study was a quantitative study with a descriptive method. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with 97 respondents. The measuring instrument used is the Hypertension Self-Management Behavior Questionnaire (HSMBQ). The analysis used is univariate analysis. Results: The results of this study indicate that the majority of respondents are >65 (44.3%), female gender (60.8%), senior high school/equivalent (46.4%), work status not working (76.3%) , had suffered from hypertension for more than 2 years (86.6%), last measured blood pressure 1-3 months ago (70.1%), and the blood pressure category was stage 1 hypertension (44.3%). The results of self-integration in the medium category (67.0%), self-regulation in the moderate category (49.5%), interaction with health professionals and significant other in the low category (55.7%), self-monitoring in the high category (52.6 %), adherence to recommended regimen in high category (61.9%), and self-management results in moderate category (70.1%). Conclusion: Self-management of hypertension sufferers during the COVID-19 pandemic is already good, namely monitoring of disease and adherence to treatment, while self-management of hypertension sufferers that must be improved during the COVID-19 pandemic is integration of health, ability to self-regulate and interaction with health workers and other.
