Prarancangan Pabrik Fatty Amine Dari Palm Kernel Oil Dengan Disain Alat Utama Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (R-101)
The design of the fatty amine plant from PKO using the nitrile hydrogenation process with the main design of the CSTR reactor with a capacity of 42,768 tons/year will be designed in addition to PT. Nusantara III Plantation, Sei. Mengkei, Medan, to be precise, in Bosar Maligas Sub-district, Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra Province. The main raw materials used in the production of fatty amines are fatty acids. The process of making fatty amines uses a two-step reaction, namely the nitrilation process and the hydrogenation process. This reaction is carried out by reacting fatty acids with ammonia at a temperature of 300⁰C with a pressure of 7 atm to produce fat nitriles. Furthermore, the nitrile reaction is carried out by reacting fat nitrile with hydrogen at a temperature of 120⁰C with a pressure of 30 atm and will produce fatty amine products. Fatty amine consists of oleylamine and stearylamline as well as low amine products. The main tool is a CSTR reactor with a design volume of 222.53 m3. The reactor height and diameter are 328.06 inches (8.33 m) and 240 inches (6.09 m, respectively). Reactor residence time of 9.76 hours using a stirrer is a type of turbo blade with a disc (six blade turbine with disc). investment investment (ROI) for 2.12 years with a break-even point (BEP) of 38% and a PBP (payback period) of 2.12 years. The net present value (NPV) is Rp. 651.128.054.882.23 with a total equity participation (TCI) of Rp. 411,803,611,867. Where the NPV value must be greater than the TCI value or the NPV is greater than 0, which can be further developed so that this plant is feasible and feasible to establish. In creating jobs, this factory is able to absorb 208 workers with various skills and educational backgrounds.
