Design High Performance On Wavelength Division Multiplexing Inter Satellite Optical Wireless Communication Using Different Mimo Techniques
ABSTRACT
Rapid data and multimedia services growth among users has increased the need for high-speed communication systems that can cover a wide global area. Inter Satellite Optical Wireless communication (ISOWC) is a method of communication to carry out optical wireless communication in free space with high-speed data transmitted in the form of light that can travel long distances. This study proposes an ISOWC system with wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) and multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) techniques to enhance the performance, which operates at a speed of 2 Gbps with a wavelength of 850 nm. The simulation results show that combining WDM and MIMO on the ISOWC system provides excellent performance with a BER of 2.79777x10-151 and a maximum Q-factor of 26.17120. This study also evaluates different MIMO 2 × 2, 4 × 4, 8 × 8, and 16 × 16 on the ISOWC system. It was concluded that the higher the number of MIMOchannels, the better BER results obtained with the maximum Q-factor.
