Abstract
Background: Hypertension is a cardiovascular disease caused by impaired heart and blood vessel function. One of the management of hypertension to prevent complications is to adhere to a hypertension diet. The purpose of this study was to identify the factors that influence the dietary compliance of hypertensive patients at the Simpang Tiga Public Health Center. Methods: The type of research is analytic survey research with a cross sectional approach. This research was conducted at the Simpang Tiga Health Center. The technique used to take the sample is non-probability sampling with purposive sampling type with the number of respondents 94 people. Results: The data collection technique used a questionnaire in the form of a Likert and Guttman scale. The analysis used is univariate analysis and bivariate analysis with Spearman Correlation Test. The results showed that there was a relationship between long suffering from hypertension and family support with dietary compliance and there was no relationship between knowledge and attitude with dietary compliance. The most influential factor was family support (p-value = 0.001). Conclusion: Long suffering from hypertension and family support affect hypertension diet compliance. The results of the study can be used as a reference for puskesmas to determine the factors that influence the success of hypertension diet management so that the patient's blood pressure is controlled.
