Pembuatan Thyristor Controlled Reactor (Tcr) Satu-Fasa Untuk Kompensasi Daya Reaktif
ABSTRACT
Many coal mining companies use motors equipped with Variable Speed Drive (VSD) in the mining process. Variable Speed Drive (VSD) is a power electronic equipment that functions to regulate motor speed, but the use of Variable Speed Drive (VSD) can cause new problems that can reduce power quality in the electrical system, the problem is harmonics. The current solution that is widely used to overcome this problem is to use SVC, which is a passive filter combined with a Thyristor Controlled Reactor (TCR). SVC has the ability to compensate for line current harmonics and power faktor values at the load, the line current before SVC is installed is 2.8% and after SVC is installed it drops to 0.48% with an increase in power faktor from 0.71 to 1, less power faktor either will result in increased electricity costs, with the installation of this system the cost savings of 27.7. The process of improving the power faktor is controlled by a control circuit, namely the Thyristor ignition circuit using IC TCA 785 with a 15 volt power supply added with a transformer for synchronization for the control circuit then connected to the FC-TCR circuit and to the water pump.
