Gambaran Upaya Masyarakat Terhadap Pengendalian Demam Berdarah Dengue
Abstract
Background: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an infection caused by the
dengue virus which is transmitted through the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito.
Dengue control consists of eradicating mosquito nests, vector control, mosquito
bite control and environmental control. This study aims to describe the
community's efforts to control DHF in Duri Timur Village, Mandau District.
Methods: This research is a quantitative descriptive study with a survey research
design. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling with a total
sample of 91 respondents. The data collection technique used a questionnaire
containing 25 valid and reliable questions. Data analysis used univariate analysis.
Results: The research shows that the age characteristics of the majority of
respondents are 15-25 years old, the gender characteristics of the majority of
respondents are women, the educational characteristics of the majority of
respondents are high school and the job characteristics of the majority of
respondents are traders. Then there are 56 respondents (61.5%) often carry out
mosquito nest eradication activities, 42 respondents (46.2%) rarely do vector
control, 64 respondents (70.3%) often control mosquito bites and 55 respondents
(60.4 %) often carry out environmental control. Conclusion: Community efforts
in controlling DHF have often been carried out by the people of Duri Timur
Village, Mandau District and this research is recommended to increase
community efforts in controlling DHF so that it can be more optimal in the
implementation of DHF control in Duri Timur Village, Mandau District.
