Pengaruh Pemberian Kascing Dan Defoliasi Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Hasil Tanaman Okra (Abelmoschus Esculentus L.)
ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the interaction between vermicompost and
defoliation and the main effect of each on the growth and yield of Okra
(Abelmoschus esculentus L.). This research carried out at the Experimental Farm
of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, using a Completely Randomized
Design consisting of 2 factors, namely: Factor I was the dose of vermicompost.
Consists of four levels (K), namely: K0 = dose of vermicompost 0 ton.ha-1, K1 =
dose of vermicompost 11.25 ton.ha-1, K2 = Dosage of vermicompost 22.5 ton.ha-1,
K3 = dose of vermicompost 33.75 ton.ha-1. Factor II is defoliation (D) consisting
of two levels, namely: D0 = Without Defoliation, D1 = With Defoliation.
Parameters observed were plant height, stem diameter, age of flowering, age of
first harvest, fruit length, fruit diameter, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight
per plant and weight per okra fruit. The interaction of vermicompost and
defoliation had no significant effect on each parameter observed for each
combination treatment compared without exception on the weight per okra fruit.
Giving vermicompost at a dose of 22.50 ton.ha-1 significantly increased plant
height, stem diameter, fruit length, fruit diameter, number of fruit per plant, fruit
weight per plant and weight per okra fruit compared to no vermicompost.
Defoliation treatment increased plant height, stem diameter, fruit length, fruit
diameter, fruit weight per plant and okra weight per fruit compared to no
defoliation.
Keywords: okra, vermicompost, defoliation
