Kesesuaian Tata Letak Fasilitas Dengan Aliran Aktivitas Di Galangan Kapal Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera Bungus
Abstract
The Bungus Fishing Port is the largest fishing port located on the west coast of the island of Sumatra and has the service facilities, namely the shipyard. In order for making ship maintenance and repair activities run effective and efficient, the shipyard facilities at the PPS Bungus must have good facility layout conditions. The purpose of this study is to determine the suitability of the facility layout with the flow of activity and to provide the layout of the proposed facility at the PPS Bungus’ Shipyard to support the smooth running of its activities. This study uses a survey method by conducting direct observations and interviews. The analysis that used is descriptive analysis on the layout of the facilities at the current PPS Bungus’ shipyard (actual layout) and the proposed layout of the facility layout at the PPS Bungus’ shipyard measured using the Activity Relationship Chart and comparing the distance of the flow of activity between the actual layout and proposed layout. The results showed that the condition of the layout facility still looks less precise and there is back tracking in the activity streams that are far apart and there is also a high total mileage of the activity flow of 674.49 meters. After the proposed layout change, the total distance traveled by the activity flow can be minimized by 582.23 meters with a percentage of reduction is 13.6% in distance traveled and a difference of 92.26 meters.
