Corridor (AAGC) in 2017. AAGC reflects the convergence of bottom-up and topdown
processes, which Japanese business interests in using India as a stepping
stone to Africa and the desire to provide a geopolitical alternative to the region.

collaboration.

two reasons underlying Japan to realize the AAGC as the fulfillment of its
country's interests. First, AAGC will be a catalyst in promoting Japan's Free and
Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP) Strategy concept to Africa. Second, AAGC will be a
bridge for Japanese trade activities to penetrate the African market through India.
Japan is a country that depends on its economy by import-export trade
originating from domestic people's production. Through AAGC, Japanese
companies can cooperate with Indian companies to enter the African market.
