Analisis Pemanfaatan Sampah Plastik Jenis Polypropylene (Pp) Dengan Metode Pirolisis Menjadi Bahan Bakar Alternatif
ABSTRACT
The problem of waste in Indonesia, especially plastic waste, is still unresolved. One alternative solution for dealing with plastic waste today is to convert the plastic waste into fuel oil. The things studied included the physical and chemical properties of pyrolysis oil. The physical properties studied included viscosity and density, while the chemical properties were the heating value. The research was conducted using plasticPolypropylene (PP), the reactor used is a simple reactor, in connection with these conditions, this study aims to process plastic waste polypropylene into oil by the pyrolysis method using three variations of temperature and pyrolysis time, namely 250OC, 300OC, 350 OC, and with respective times of 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes. The characteristics of the best pyrolysis oil obtained include calorific value, viscosity, and density at reactor temperature 350 OC is 11,734 cal/g, 0.74 cP, 0.76 g/ml. The results obtained after testing that the reactor temperature is very influential on the characteristics of pyrolysis oil.
