The readiness of teachers in providing teaching to students as well as teaching skills are
very much needed in teaching and learning activities, especially in the selection of learning
models to be used during the teaching and learning process. One learning model that aims to
develop abilities, train ways of thinking and reasoning and using knowledge ideas in everyday
life is the Project-based Learning Model. The Project-based Learning Model in schools is
related to how a teacher can implement and implement Project-based Learning as optimally as
possible so that it can encourage student activity in learning.
Readiness to teach is not only mastered by teachers, but prospective teachers are also
expected to have broad knowledge and deep understanding. In addition to material mastery,
teachers are also required to have a variety of learning models or strategies, because there is no
one learning model that can be used to achieve learning objectives from various topics. For this
reason, it is necessary to measure, evaluate and analyze various aspects needed as the readiness
of prospective teachers (students) regarding the Project-based Learning Model before
implementing PLP. Using a mixed research method, research was conducted to measure
understanding and hone readiness before Japanese Language Education Study Program
students practice in Project-based Learning (PjBL) model schools in Japanese. Based on the
research results the level of understanding is in the very understanding category, this shows
that students understand the meaning, goals, characteristics, stages, characteristics, principles
as well as the advantages and disadvantages of the Project-based Learning Model as PLP
readiness in School. This shows that more than half of Japanese Language Education students
understand the Project-based Learning Model as PLP readiness in schools starting from the
planning stage, formulating learning objectives, analyzing student characteristics, formulating
learning strategies, making worksheets, designing learning resource needs, as well as designing
evaluation tools.
