ABSTRACT
The process of filtering soybean pulp to separate tofu water and dregs in the tofu-making home industry is still carried out in a traditional and less efficient way. Though this process affects the taste, quality and quantity of tofu produced. Need to apply simple technology in the screening process. Centrifugal filtering can be applied to separate soybean pulp and dregs using the centrifugal method which occurs in the axial direction, determines the manufacturing constant of the tool and the effect of the rotating speed of the tool on the flow rate of the filtering process. Machine making is done by turning, welding, drilling, cutting and plate work processes. The soy starch and dregs filter machine for making tofu has overall dimensions of 850 mm in length, 800 mm in width and 1200 mm in height. In its operation, the tool uses a 6.5 hp motor from Firman, which is transmitted usingGearbox Reducer 1:10, helped withpulley 76 mm as many as 3 pieces andpulley 152 mm, get a maximum rotation of 900 Rpm and a processing capacity of 15 Kg/minute. Testing the performance of the tool was carried out using soybean porridge that had been cooked and ready to be filtered obtained from a tofu-making home industry on Jl. Cipta Karya, Village of Tuah Karya, Handsome District, Pekanbaru. The data recorded in the performance test of the tool is the volume and mass of soybean pulp filtered every minute.
