Uji Beberapa Konsentrasi Ekstrak Sirih Cina (Peperomia Pellucida L.) Terhadap Mortalitas Ulat Grayak Jagung (Spodoptera Frugiperda J.E. Smith) Di Laboratorium
ABSTRACT
Corn (Zea mays L.) is an important food crops in Indonesia. Spodoptera frugiperda J.E. Smith is a pest that attak on young leaves Zea mays L.. Pepper elder (Peperomia pellucida L.) is one of the plants that has the potential as a botanical insecticide to control pests. This research was aimed to obtain an effective concentration of stems and leaves pepper elder (P. pellucida L.) to control S. frugiperda and was carried out at the Plant Pest Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University from May to July 2022. This research was conducted experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of five concentrations of stems and leaves pepper elder extract, namely 0 gl-1 water, 25 gl-1 water, 50 gl-1 water, 75 gl-1 water, 100 gl-1 water with four replicates to obtain 200 experimental units.The results showed that the application of the stems and leaves pepper elder extract concentration of 75 gl-1 water is an effective concentration for controlling S. frugiperda because it can cause a total mortality of 80% with an initial time of death of 1.5 hours after application and a lethal time of 50 at 24.5 hours after application.
