Uji Efektivitas Isolat Rhizobium Sp. Lokal Riau Pada Pertumbuhan Dan Hasil Tanaman Kedelai (Glycine Max (L.) Merrill)

ABSTRACT Rhizobium sp. bacteria is one of the biological agents that can form a symbiosis with leguminous plants. Mutualistic symbiosis between soybean plants and Rhizobium sp. will benefit soybeans, because they will get air nitrogen from Rhizobium sp., thereby increasing the growth and production of soybeans. Inoculation of Rhizobium sp. not always successful, caused by Rhizobium sp. are highly specific to their host plants. Evidence of the effectiveness of this symbiosis is first indicated by the orange or reddish color of the host root nodule and its larger size. The impact of the effectiveness of this symbiosis will eventually be seen in the growth and development of soybean plants. For this purpose, 6 isolates of Rhizobium sp. isolated from the ground cover plant Mucuna bracteata and the industrial forest plant Acacia crasicarpa on Riau peatlands on soybean plants conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. This study aims to obtain isolates of Rhizobium sp. local Riau effective symbiosis with soybean plants (Glycine max (L.) Merrill). The study was conducted in the form of a completely randomized design trial where each treatment was repeated 4 times. The treatment consisted of: r1 = without Rhizobium sp. isolates, r2 = Rhizobium sp. commercial, r3: isolate IIRA2, r4: isolate IIRA4, r5: isolate IIRA6, r6: isolate IIRM2, r7: isolate IIRM1, and r8: isolate IIMB4. Variables observed included: plant height, flowering age, number of root nodules, number of effective nodules, age at harvest, number of pods, number of fruitful pods, weight of 100 seeds, and dry weight of stover. The results showed that all Riau local isolates were effective in symbiosis with the tested soybean plants which could be grouped into 3 groups, namely very effective, more effective, and effective isolates.
