ABSTRACT
Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench) is a vegetable herb belongs to the family Malvaceae, has many health benefits. Onion red (Allium cepa L.), contains hormone capable auxins and gibberellin push growth plant. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect onion in increase germination, growth and yield of green okra plants and determine the proper soaking time for increase germination, growth and yield of green okra plant. This research was conducted at the Biology Garden, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Riau University and Duri, Riau, Indonesia from April-September 2022 using a completely randomized design (CRD) with one factor of five repetitions with immersion time: 0, 3, 6, 9 and 12 hours. Soaking green okra seeds in 2% onion red extracts had a significant effect on sprouting time, sprouting percentage, percentage germination, growth and production green of okra plants and soaking time 6 hours with extract onion red 2% can increase growth and production green okra plant.
