Analisis Perbandingan Tebal Overlay Menggunakan Data Deflectometry Antara Metode Mdpj 2017 Dan Metode Aashto 1993 (Studi Kasus: Jalan Rantau Berangin – Bts. Provinsi Sumatera Barat)
ABSTRACT
Rantau Berangin – Batas Provinsi Sumatera Barat is an important access that connects the two provinces. This road section has quite a large difference in contour and there are indications of overloads causing the decline in the design life to occur more quickly. The overlay is carried out to restore the strength of the structure during its service life so that it reaches the design life. This study aims to evaluate the comparison of added layer thickness using deflection data between the Manual Desain Perkerasan Jalan 2017 Method and AASHTO 1993 Method. This research examines two road segments with different terrain and uses five traffic load scenarios. The remaining life of the pavement is analyzed as an indicator to determine the adequacy of service life and maintenance requirements. The results show that the two segments are considered to need road improvements in the form of an overlay. The MDPJ 2017 method produces an overlay thickness in segment 1 of 5 cm for scenario I, 5.5 cm in scenario II, 5 cm in scenario III, 6 cm for scenario IV, and 7 cm for scenario V. Segment 2 requires an overlay with a thickness of 5 cm for all scenarios. Whereas the AASHTO 1993 method, in segment 1, scenario I produces 7 cm thick, scenario II is 11.5 cm, scenario III is 6.5 cm thick, scenario IV is 10.5 cm, and scenario V is 15.5 cm thick. Segment 2 requires an overlay with a thickness of 5 cm for scenario I to scenario IV and scenario 5 of 5.5 cm. Based on the results and analysis it can be concluded that the 2017 MDPJ method produces a thinner overlay thickness because the traffic load used is smaller than the 1993 AASHTO method.
