Peran Penyuluh Perikanan Pada Nelayan Kelompok Kelas Madya Di Kelurahan Pasie Nan Tigo Kecamatan Koto Tangah Kota Padang Provinsi Sumatera Barat

Abstract
This research was conducted in December 2022 in Pasie Nan Tigo Village, Koto Tangah Sub-District, Padang City, West Sumatra Province. The purpose of this research is to describe the characteristics of the fishery instructor, the role of the fishery instructor and the constraints of the extension worker in conducting fishery extension. This research uses a case study with a qualitative approach. Informants in this study were 13 people with a deliberate selection technique. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews. Data analysis used data reduction, data presentation and verification or conclusions.
The results of the study showed that extension agents for middle-class fishermen in Pasie Nan Tigo Village were productive, highly educated and experienced. The role of fisheries extension officers as educators, communicators, liaisons as well as organizers and dynamics is classified as having a role. Meanwhile, the role of fisheries extension officers as a motivator and facilitator is quite important. The obstacles faced by extension workers include the schedule of extension activities, distance traveled, facilities and infrastructure and the extent of the target area.
