Uji Beberapa Konsentrasi Ekstrak Biji Bintaro (Cerbera Manghas L.) Untuk Mengendalikan Hama Walang Sangit (Leptocorisa Acuta Thunberg) Pada Tanaman Padi Gogo
ABSTRACT
Upland rice plants (Oryza sativa L.) is a very important commodity in Indonesia because it is the main source of carbohydrates for the community. One of the main problems of Upland Rice Plant cultivation is the attack of the weevil (Leptocorisa acuta). L. acuta pest control is carried out by farmers using synthetic insecticides. This can cause resistance, recurrence, emergence of secondary pests, killing of natural enemies which in the long run will harm farmers. To overcome this, research was conducted to find alternatives to the use of vegetable insecticides using sea mango seeds (Cerbera manghas L.). The research aims to obtain the concentration of Cerbera manghas extract that is effective against the mortality of weevil (L. acuta) pests on upland rice plants. The research was conducted experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 6 treatment concentrations, with 4 replicates so that 24 experimental units were obtained. The treatment given was the concentration of sea mango seed extract with a concentration of 0 g.l-1 water, 20 g.l-1 water, 40 g.l-1 water, 60 g.l-1 water, 80 g.l-1 water, and 100 g.l-1 water. The observation parameters consisted of initial time of death, lethal time-50, daily mortality, total mortality, temperature and humidity. The results showed that the application of Cerberra manghas extraction with concentration of 80 g.l-1 water was an effective concentration for controlling L. acuta because this concentration was able to cause total mortality of 87.50% with an initial time of death of 5.75 hours after application and LT50 at 38.5 hours after application.
Keywords: Leptocorisa acuta, sea mango (Cerbera manghas L.), rice plant.
