Pengaruh Penggunaan Aplikasi Goodnight Terhadap Tingkat Kecemasan Berbahasa Dan Tingkat Percaya Diri Dalam Berbicara Bahasa Jepang
This research is motivated by a phenomenon which shows that there are some
students who always feel anxious and not confident to speak Japanese. The formulation
of the problem in this study is "How is the student's self-assessment of the level of
language anxiety and the level of confidence in speaking Japanese through the
Goodnight application media". This research uses descriptive research methods with a
quantitative approach and the data collection instrument used is a questionnaire. The
population in this study were students of the 2020 batch of the Japanese Language
Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of
Riau. The sample in this study were 3rd grade students in odd semesters of the Japanese
Language Education Study Program, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education
for the 2021/2022 academic year, consisting of 24 students.
Based on the results of filling out the final questionnaire after using the
Goodnight application media, 57.6% of respondents still felt anxiety about language
and 54.6% lacked confidence. The Goodnight application media can help reduce the
level of language anxiety and lack of confidence when practicing speaking Japanese.
Before using the Goodnight application media, the results of self-assessment students
always felt very anxious and insecure to speak Japanese. After several times using the
Goodnight application, students continued their self-assessment when speaking
Japanese. In some ways, anxiety and nervousness were overcome when speaking with
native speakers, although some still felt anxious, nervous and lacked confidence when
speaking Japanese. So from the self-assessment of these students using the Goodnight
application media it can help reduce the level of language anxiety and lack of
confidence when practicing speaking Japanese.
