Abstract
This study aims to find out how the role played by UNICEF in providing assistance to children in Burkina Faso in 2018-2020. This study describes the role of the international organization United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in helping children trapped in the humanitarian crisis in Burkina Faso. In an emergency and humanitarian context, children are the most suffering and most vulnerable communities. Burkina Faso's children are deprived of their rights, trapped in starvation, and sickened by the collapse of their health, water and sanitation services and the infrastructure around them due to attacks by armed groups. UNICEF as an international institution that works independently, becomes a forum to help fulfill the rights of children in Burkina Faso.
This study uses the theory of the role of international organizations from Clive Archer and qualitative research methods with secondary data obtained by analyzing data from books, journals, bulletins, annual reports of several related agencies, documents, or other materials that support the research.
The Humanitarian Action for Children program is UNICEF's role to help Burkina Faso's children from all threats to their lives. The role that has been carried out by UNICEF is carrying out reconstruction and revitalization efforts, as well as collaborating with the government and other organizations. Some of the activities held by UNICEF include providing temporary classrooms, holding campaigns and counseling, distributing various health and sanitation equipment, and providing psychosocial support.
