Metafora Konseptual Dalam Lagu Karya Sekai No Owari

In literary works in the form of poetry, the most dominant function of
language is poetic function. The poetic function focuses on the language itself
or accentuates the form of language so that the quality of the language is more
practical and attractive. This function is used to achieve an effect that speakers
want in language, by applying this function in language, the message
conveyed becomes more interesting, dense, and creative.
The lyrics in a song are part of a literary work which is a type of poetry.
When viewed from the form and types of poetry, song lyrics are included in the
type of lyric poetry. This type of lyric poetry expresses deep feelings, so that
most of these types of lyric poetry are always related to the themes of love,
death, religion, philosophy and so on which are related to the deepest
appreciation of the poet's heart. It is the similarity of forms and elements that
make up song lyrics and poetry that makes song lyrics can be analyzed using
the same theory and method as poetry analysis.
This study discusses the conceptual metaphors contained in the song
sekai no owari. The purpose of this study is to explain the types of conceptual
metaphors and the deepest image schemes in the song by Sekai no Owari. This
research use desciptive qualitative approach. The data source for this research
is 14 songs from the band Sekai no Owari. The data collection technique is
note taking.
Based on data analysis, from the 15 songs that were used as objects in
this study, it was found that there were a total of 43 conceptual metaphor data.
Among them are 3 data of structural metaphors, 20 data of orientational
metaphors, 11 data of ontological metaphors and 9 data of ontological
metaphors with personification subtypes.
