Penerapan Pendekatan Open-Ended Untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Matematika Pada Siswa Di Sekolah Dasar
This problem was found from the author's observation of grade IV
students of SD Negeri 123 Pekanbaru that when learning mathematics shows that
in most of its learning it applies a mathematics learning approach that is still
teacher oriented, so that students are not free to develop their reasoning skills and
are less interested in participating in mathematics learning so that the learning
outcomes obtained by students are low in mathematics learning. This can be seen
from the results of students' studies in mathematics learning with an average
score of 69.93. The purpose of this study is to improve mathematics learning
outcomes in students by applying an Open-Ended approach. This research model
is classroom action research. The data collection in this study used observation
and test methods. Data is processed using qualitative data and simple statistics.
Based on the results of observations made by researchers on observations of
teacher and student activities, there was an increase. The average percentage of
teacher activity in cycle I was 84% with category (good) and in cycle II increased
to 94% with category (very good). The average student activity in cycle I was 3.33
with category (enough) and in cycle II increased to 4.30 with category (very
good). The average mathematics learning outcomes of students from basic grades
to cycle I increased by 2.94 with a percentage of 4.20% while from basic grades
to cycle II increased by 18.4 with a percentage of 26.31%. So it can be concluded
that the learning process using an Open-Ended approach can improve
mathematics learning outcomes in grade IV students of SD Negeri 123
Pekanbaru.
