ABSTRACT
This research discusses the Impact of the Riau Province Round Coconut Export Strategy to Malaysia on Merdeka Exports in 2021. The purpose of this research is to explain and find out how the impact of the strategy carried out by the Riau Province in exporting its round coconut to Malaysia on activity the export independence period. Independent export itself is a program of President Ir. H. Jokowido through the Ministry of Agriculture, which carries out large-scale export activities through various regions in Indonesia, which aims to improve Indonesia's economy after the COVID-19 pandemic. In the end, independent exports have become a clear solution for Indonesia's economic growth. In this case, it is clearer to Riau Province, Riau Province participates a lot in exporting its natural products, one of the commodities is round coconut, so the writer chooses round coconut as the object, and Riau Province as the case study.
The author uses a mercantilism perspective, with the level of analysis of the nation state. The theory that the author uses is competitive advantage, with the concept of national security. To explain the facts that happened, as well as the data that the authors collected came from books, journals, articles, websites, and directly asked the Riau Provincial government to several relevant stakeholders, to add to the author's reference in discussing this research.
This research shows that export independence is indeed very appropriatebe a solution after the national economic decline when hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. The strategy carried out by Riau Province is:promotion, improvement of natural resources, improvement of human resources, improvement of advice and infrastructure, supervision enforcement and publication of documentation.
