Strategi Pengelolaan Danau Sepunjung Desa Rantau Baru Kecamatan Pangkalan Kerinci Kabupaten Pelalawan
Sepunjung Lake is one of the lakes used by the people of Rantau Baru Village to catch fish. The management of Lake Sepunjung is still carried out traditionally based on hereditary habits of the community which then forms a local wisdom. In an effort to preserve and maintain the function of Lake Sepunjung, an appropriate strategy is needed in its management. So that research is carried out which aims to analyze existing conditions, analyze influencing factors and formulate management strategies for Lake Sepunjung in Rantau Baru Village, Pangkalan Kerinci District, Pelalawan Regency.
This research was conducted in January - March 2023 at Lake Sepunjung, Rantau Baru Village, Pangkalan Kerinci District, Pelalawan Regency. The data used in this study came from primary and secondary data. Primary data presented comes from the results of questionnaires, interviews and direct observation in the field such as lake water quality analysis data. Secondary data presented comes from some literature and supporting data from several related agencies. Data analysis used in the form of laboratory water quality analysis, descriptive analysis and SWOT analysis. Water quality analysis to determine the condition of Lake Sepunjung water quality, descriptive analysis to describe the subject and or object of research according to facts in the field. SWOT analysis is used to produce a management strategy for Lake Sepunjung by considering each strength, weakness, opportunity and threat factor.
The results of this study indicate that the water quality of Lake Sepunjung is still in good condition from chemical, physical and biological parameters. The water quality of the lake is in class II according to the Quality Standard of Government Regulation Number 22 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Environmental Protection and Management. Lake Sepunjung has an area of 4.31 ha, and 56% of the lake's water surface has begun to be covered by aquatic plants which causes low penetration of sunlight into the water body, which has an impact on the balance of the marine ecosystem. Various types of fish that have high economic value are also still found in Lake Sepunjung, one of which is Selais fish (Ompok hypophthalmus), although currently the fish catch is decreasing. Social conditions show that the people of Rantau Baru Village still maintain local wisdom in their daily lives, the level of education pursued by the community is generally primary education, which is 28.36% of the total population. Baru Village community still carries out the customary system led by a Pucuk Adat, where the existence of this customary institution can minimize social conflict. The economic condition of the Rantau Baru Village community shows that the majority of the community earns a living as fishermen. The income level of fishermen in Rantau Baru is still relatively low when compared to the minimum wage of Pelalawan Regency.
The strategy generated in the management of Lake Sepunjung in Rantau Baru Village is the S-O (Strength-Opportunities) strategy. This strategy supports an aggressive strategy where the resulting strategy can take advantage of all existing strengths and opportunities. The government, in this case the Rantau Baru Village Government, needs to clean up Lake Sepunjung, form Village Regulations in an effort to protect the biophysical quality of Lake Sepunjung; the need for local wisdom-based ecotourism management and the development of freshwater fisheries potential.
