Strategi Pemanfaatan Over Produksi Gas Metana Dari Limbah Cair Kelapa Sawit Sebagai Sumber Energi Di PLTBG Terantam Kabupaten Kampar
Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) or liquid waste and solid waste from palm fruits were produced in Palm oil factory (PKS). PT.Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) V strives to increase the use of this waste into energy sources. The use of methane gas from POME as Biogas Power Plant (PLTBg) into energy is in line with the government's program in utilizing renewable energy sources, but its utilization does not optimal. The purpose of this study to know the existing condition of environment, economic and social in PLTBg, the potential and over-production of methane gas from POME to determine the impact in environment, economic and social aspect so utilization strategy for methane gas from POME will be appropiated. The method of this research was mixed method based on qualitative and quanitative approach by using primary data from interviews and questionnaire results, secondary data from its production and PLTBg datas. The data collection process is carried out by conducting observations, interviews and documentation to find out the existing conditions of environment, economic and social in PLTBg for knowing potential and methane gas’ over production and its impact in environment, economic and social aspects to determine the strategy of utilization methane gas’ over production by SWOT analysis.
The results showed that the existing environment, economic, and social conditions in PLTBg Terantam was used well, but to make it optimal the obstacles are needed to be solved. The results of the calculation on average material balance in year 2020 - 2022 of methane gas was about 360.4 Nm3/h - 382.5 Nm3/h which could produce a net electrical power about 1.103 kWh - 1.170 kWh. Meanwhile, average of over production methane gas was increased about 178.6 Nm3/h - 195.9 Nm3/h and net electricity was 546 kWh - 551 kWh in year 2020 - 2021. The impacts of this potential in the environmental assessment was the POME is still in below the quality standard, a simple economic calculation showed that profits can be increased if the utilization of PLTBg is optimized, and in the social assessment had a good community perception in the utilization of POME into PLTBg. SWOT Analysis of PLTBg Terantam is in quadrant I by implementing an aggressive strategy. This strategy is carried out by maintaining the value of strength and opportunity at the PLTBg so that the over-production of methane gas. This strategy approaches the Government and BRIN (National Innovation Research Agency) in order to achieve 23% of new renewable energy in 2025 according to Government Regulation No. 79 of 2014, make innovations in the development of PLTBg as an energy source and improve constraints on
