Adaptation is one of the important requirements for creation individual
mental/mental health. Adjustment to the college environment is a process that
must be carried out by all new students at College. During the adjustment
process problems were encountered psychology in students from academic and
non-academic sources academic.
This research is entitled Self-Adjustment of First Year New Students
FKIP UNRI (DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL SCIENCE) In Facing
College Life which aims to determine the level of adjustment new students
themselves seen from the aspects of general symptoms, gender, major/prodi,
and regional origin.
This research is descriptive quantitative with survey research type. The
population and sample in this study were first year new students Department of
Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Academic year
2022/2023. Data analysis in this research uses descriptive statistics with the help
of Microsoft Excel 2010 and SPSS version 24.
The research results show the level of self-adjustment seen from aspects
General symptoms show that the value of each aspect is 100%. Based on
gender, the level of self-adjustment shows men and women have moderate
adjustments to each the percentage of men is 88.3% and women is 83.3%, based
on major level self-adjustment is in the medium category in each major,
meanwhile Based on regional origin, each has its own level of adjustment
currently.
