Kajian Morfologi Dan Palinologi Kamboja (Plumeria Linnaeus, Apocynaceae) Di Universitas Riau
ABSTRACT
Plumeria species pose high morphological characters. This is pivotal in plant identification and classification. The aim of study is to characterize morphological characters and pollen of Plumeria in University Riau area. Plumeria speciemens were collected from UNRI area. Morphological characterization was carried out on stems, leaves and flowers. Plumeria pollen preparation was carried out using two methods, namely the acetolysis method and the non acetolysis method. A total of two Plumeria species is identified in this study, namely P. obtusa and P. rubra with 3 morphological variations, namely P. rubra 'Pink Sunrise', P. rubra var. acutifolia, and P. rubra that can be distinguished based on the flower morphology. Plumeria pollen characteristics are monad, media size, tricolpate aperture. While pollen polarity consists in all Plumeria is isopolar. The dendrogram is divided into two main groups. The first groups is consisted of and the second groups (II) is consisted of three variation of P. obtusa. Both groups can be distinguished by character of a shiny leaf surface and rounded leaf tips, while group IIb consisted of P. rubra 'Pink Sunrise', P. rubra, and P. rubra var. acutifolia with the same character, namely the non-shiny leaf surface, Suboblat pollen form.
Key findings : Acetolysis, morphology, non acetolysis, palinology, Plumeria.
