ABSTRACT
Cryopreservation is a technique for freezing spermatozoa so that they can live for a long time. Bali cattle are one of the potential germplasm to be developed. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of giving moringa leaf extract (Moringa oleifera) into tris-yolk diluent on the motility, viability, and recovery rate of bali cattle spermatozoa with the length of freezing time. Examination of the quality of spermatozoa that had been given diluent was carried out using a Computerized Assisted Sperm Analyzed (CASA) system. The stages of the research were collecting leaf samples, extracting moringa leaves, making diluents, giving moringa leaf extract to tris-yolk diluent, preparing livestock, storing semen, examining fresh semen, diluting semen, making frozen semen, and testing the quality of spermatozoa after being cryopreserved. The data were analyzed with the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test and Duncan’s advanced test with using the SPSS 17.0 program.
