Potensi Bakteri Endofit Dari Batang Dan Akar Paku Laut (Acrostichum Aureum L.) Sebagai Penghasil Enzim Hidrolitik Dan Inhibitor Α-Amilase
ABSTRACT
Endophytic bacteria are bacteria that live symbiotically in plant tissues but do not have a negative effect on plants. Currently, endophytic bacteria are widely used in the industrial sector as enzyme producers. This study aims to examine the potential of endophytic bacteria from the stems and roots of sea fern (Acrostichum aureum L.) as producers of hydrolytic enzymes and to determine their potential as α-amylase inhibitors. Cellulase enzyme activity on 1% CMC selective medium, lipase enzymes on selective medium containing olive oil and phenol red and laccase enzymes on 0.1% guaiacol selective medium. The results obtained from 24 isolates of endophytic bacteria as much as 33% of stem isolates and 52% of root isolates were able to produce hydrolytic enzymes. The three selected isolates, namely A.T 2, AA 3, and BA 1, only two isolates were able to produce α-amylase inhibitors at 1% starch concentration by 17% of A.T 2 isolates and 8% of AA 3 isolates. α-amylase inhibitors at 2% starch concentration 36% isolate A.T 2 measured with a spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 540 nm. These two endophytic bacterial isolates can be developed as alternative drug ingredients for antidiabetic.
