The Effectiveness of Animated Video Media Health Counseling About Visual Inspection of Acetic Acid (IVA) Against the Interest of Women of Reproductive Age (WUS) in Early Detection of Cervical Cancer

ABSTRACT
Introduction: cervical cancer is cancer that grows on the cervix, on the outer surface of the cervix caused by infection with the HPV virus. According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), cervical cancer is the second leading cause of death among cancers in women. In the strategic plan of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia for 2015-2019, one of the efforts to tackle cervical cancer can be done through early detection using the IVA method. Purpose: to see the effectiveness of animated video media for health education about visual inspection of acetic acid (IVA) on the interest of women of childbearing age (WUS) in early detection of cervical cancer. Methods: this research is a quantitative study using a quasy experimental research design with a non-equivalent control group pre-test post-test design, the population is all WUS aged 30-50 years, taking samples by purposive sampling of 34 respondents. The analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis (Wilcoxon test). Result: shows that the animated video of health education about IVA is effective for WUS interest in early detection of cervical cancer with a p value (0.000) < α (0.05). Conclusion: it is expected to be able to carry out periodic or routine IVA examinations and be able to disseminate the information that has been obtained from the results of participating in health education about cervical cancer to the public.
