Implementasi Kerjasama Patkor Kastima Dalam Pemberantasan Peredaran Narkoba Di Wilayah Perbatasan Perairan Indonesia-Malaysia
ABSTRACT
This study aims to find out about the implementation of a collaboration to eradicate drug trafficking carried out by Indonesia and Malaysia during the period 2017 to 2022. The collaboration in question is cooperation carried out by the Customs and Excise agencies from each country known as Operation Patkor Kastima. The Patkor Kastima operation aims to prevent and eradicate the smuggling of illegal goods, one of which is narcotics, in the Malacca Straits area. This research was written using the level of analysis of the nation-state,
the perspective of neo-realism, the concept of cross-border crime, the theory of international cooperation by K.J. Holsti which states that international cooperation is the view or expectation of a country that policies decided by other countries will help that country to achieve its interests and values. The data collection technique in this study was through interviews with employees of the Riau Archipelago Directorate General of Customs and Excise Regional Office and literature studies from several books, journals, articles, news, documents, and websites.
From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the cooperation carried out in Operation Patkor Kastima cannot be said to be successful in eradicating drug smuggling. Even though Patkor Kastima's cooperation fulfills the requirements in international cooperation theory, in carrying out his patrols, the percentage of failed drug smugglers is still small, which can be proven from the BNN's annual report which shows that there is still a high rate of drug abuse in Indonesia.
