ABSTRACT
This research is based on an existing phenomenon, the ground coffee business in Nagari Koto Tuo, Sungai Tarab District, Tanah Datar Regency, which has not been maximized in terms of business development. Inventory of raw materials, management that is not optimal and capital that is difficult to obtain and business licenses that do not exist. Therefore researchers are interested in conducting research on the business development strategy of ground coffee SMEs in Koto Tuo which are expected to continue to experience development. The purpose of this study was to find a Development Strategy for Coffee Powder UMKM in Nagari Koto Tuo, Sungai Tarab District, Tanah Datar Regency. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive approach that uses the object under study, while the data collection technique uses direct observation, interviews and informants. The data that the authors obtained were analyzed using SWOT analysis. Based on the results of research conducted using SWOT analysis, the strategy used is the WO strategy (Weaknesses and Opportunities). With the conclusion that: 1. Utilizing developments in information technology to increase promotion 2. Making business licenses so that the business is more trusted and better known to the community 3. Increasing production equipment and also the amount of production in order to increase sales volume 4. Increasing the amount of ground coffee business capital so that it is more has a wide marketing area 5. Adding a workforce in the marketing department, so that owners can better organize and manage their business properly without the need to participate in the process of marketing activities.
