Analisis Penurunan Kadar Air Pada Pakaian Dengan Menggunakan Alat Pengering Berbasis Biomassa Dari Arang Tempurung Kelapa
ABSTRACT
Clothing is one of the primary needs for humans. The choice of one's clothing can
reflect the personality and soul of the individual. Clothes also need to be cleaned or
washed so that we feel more confident when wearing them, because clean clothes
will definitely get wet and need to be dried. The process of drying clothes requires
relatively good time for a large or small amount of clothes. People in Indonesia
generally dry their clothes by utilizing solar energy which is practical and
ecological. However, there are some drawbacks in drying clothes using solar
energy, such as during the rainy season. In the rainy season, it is impossible to rely
on sunlight to dry the clothes. By developing the times in the drying era, this study
aims to design a clothes dryer technological innovation tool using biomass-based
energy Smart Digital. Parameters measured were temperature, humidity, clothing
moisture content, and heat. The method used is an experimental method using
biomass energy from coconut shell charcoal as fuel with thin clothes using a mass
of 1400 grams of charcoal and thick clothes using a mass of 4000 grams of charcoal.
The results of the research on reducing the water content in clothes made of thin
materials produced a correlation value of 0.8497 with a reduction in water content
of up to 15.89% and types of clothing made of thick materials produced a
correlation value of 0.9756 with a reduction in water content of up to 24.02%. The
results for this type of clothing made from thin materials produce temperatures with
an average temperature in the drying room of 46.66 °C with a humidity of 40.35%,
and the lost calorific value is 4287.56 j/s. Meanwhile, the results for this type of
clothing made from thick materials produced a temperature with an average
temperature in the drying room of 64.39 °C with a humidity of 47.97%, and the lost
calorific value was 6317.33 j/s. The time required during the drying process is 200
minutes with an interval of 10 minutes
