ABSTRACT
This research focuses on the role of UNEP as an international organization in efforts to conserve peat forests in Indonesia. This study uses system level of analysis, pluralism perspective, and international organization theory in analyzing the influence of international organizations in helping a state dealing with environmental issue.
This study uses qualitative methods, with data collection techniques, namely literature studies originating from books, journals, reports, documents, internet sites, and reports.
The result of this study showed that UNEP is contributing to efforts to conserve peatland forests through a program called Ecosystem-based Disaster Risk Reduction (Eco-DRR) in Indonesia. This project used Integrated Risk Management (IRM) concept approach, in which the management and recovery efforts of Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) are combined.
